I think for the first time ever I would rather be back in Utah than at home.  I have just realized their is NOTHING here for me.  I mean, I love my family and all but it would drive me nuts to live with them again (at least the ones left at home).  My friends are all distant and have gone their separate ways for the most part, and I’m more bored here than anywhere else.
Here is an awesome shirt I got for Christmas:

A boring entry

Posted by sam at December 23rd, 2004

How, on earth, could you ever go on?

So I watched Supersize me tonight. I think I had a coronary just watching it. I never like McDonald’s much anyway, because their food tastes like my butt, but now I like them even less. I am convinced that there is one way to raise a kid: Home school, no TV. You know what that makes me? It makes me crazy! Well since a majority of people are overweight, stupid, and unhealthy I guess it’s not so bad being different.

I went for a walk afterwards. It just snowed a few inches here, and everything outside was incredible. It was almost as bright as day because of all the light reflecting off the snow. I wish I had my camera, or that my camera could capture how awesome everything looked. I walked up to Smith’s and purchased an apple. As I was walking home eating it, I realized how great apples taste and wondered if apples were made for people, or if people were made for apples. Think about it.

I also thought about natural selection. I don’t fully believe in large scale evolutional theory (I.E. fish becomes man), but I do believe in natural selection, and therefore a species CAN make changes over time. So natural selection says the strongest survive. So over the last how-ever-many years, genetics that make humans weak have been weeded out and discarded, leaving superior genetics behind. So over time, the human race improves genetically, becomes more refined, and becomes stronger.

Today we are trying to reverse natural selection. Everyone has all these problems, but we can fix them with medical technology. People who naturally should be dying are not, and are thus passing on their genetic weaknesses. (Side note: All you crazy people who justify everything by saying it’s natural, think about that next time a doctor saves your life by doing something unnatural to your body!). So what happens when earth comes to a state where we no longer have access to widespread medical resources?

Basically the strongest countries now become the countries full of the weakest genes. Everyone with diabetes (1 in 10, I think) will die. In fact, everyone with any kind of condition that requires regular, artificial, intervention will die. Suddenly the strongest nation becomes the weakest one. Well it’s late, and obviously my mind has been wandering a bit, so I think I will go brush my teeth and go to bed.

Oh yeah, I got this toothpaste while I was at the store tonight that has floss built into the packaging. Now whoever thought of that can be my friend.

I’m a drunkard

Posted by sam at December 14th, 2004

I went to a sweater party last night.  Everyone had to wear the ugliest sweater they could find.  I wore a regular sweater.  There was alcohol there, but I don’t drink - never have.  I drank the punch.  Someone spiked the punch.  I stopped drinking the punch.  I didn’t drink enough to feel much different though.

Sky Craptain.

Posted by sam at December 9th, 2004

So I went to see Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow with some friends this evening.  The best part was that it was free.  Everyone in the theater kept laughing every time something serious happened because it was so cheesy and lame.  I was left thinking the imagery was really cool, but imagery doesn’t make the movie.  How could any of those actors read the script and say; “Wow, what a great script!  Can’t wait to do this one!!”  I mean, that is a career ending bad movie.

This is Sara’s hot Ninja Turtle Costume.  She didn’t wear it on Halloween, but she wore it at other random times.

Liberal Media

Posted by sam at December 7th, 2004

Looks like I’m part of the radical left wing media.  I wrote an article for the school paper about how we are allowed, according to state law, to carry concealed weapons on campus.  Apparently, the very subject that I wrote about shows my bias towards gun control.  I never thought I would be part of the left wing conspiracy.

Article here

The funny thing is that I included both viewpoints.  But people till wrote hostile comments (at the bottom of the article).  Here are a few gems:

You’d almost think there was a conspiracy to divulge such a mixture of half-truths and myths regarding concealed carry on campus. A very quick review of the national news will indicate that rapes, assaults, and robberies do occur on other university campuses, showing there is a ‘need’ for protection. Has anyone considered the very real possibility that the reason there are fewer than average crimes on campus is BECAUSE of the CCW policy? And don’t forget, ‘without anyone realizing’ that firearms are on campus, it must mean that those carrying are not creating any problems, even alarming the fearful.

a good point, especially since I drew some imaginary parallel between concealed weapons and gun crimes.  I only quoted the police chief because that was his major issue against guns.  If anything, that should show how stupid their argument is.

Irresponsible is the only word I can muster up as I seek to calm my nerves and placate my annoyance at this blatant ignorance

You try writing for the paper, asshole.  Let’s see if YOU can be unbiased on a campus full of retards looking for a “liberal rag” to complain about.
