Mom mom Mom

Mom: Hey I was rwading your blog the other day.
Me: (thinking: oh crap oh crap what have I posted recently?!?!11!) what blog (playing it cool)

as it turns out she wasn’t talking about this blog, she was talking about my flickr blog, where I dupe some of the entries here. She did start interogating me about some girl… Meh.

Well don’t worry because I enabled remote admin on the router at home and blocked access to my blog and my flickr page. There will be no blog relocation. There will be no mom reading my posts. Commence curse words and vulgar speaking.

Pasquini’s pizza

Pasquini’s pizza
Uploaded by gthing.

I just ate at the raddest pizza place ever. I spotted it as we were driving by and we stopped. It was full so they sat us at the bar for a bit and gave us free awesome breadsticks. The old lady at the front door talked to me all night and called me by name. After we sat down i asked the waiter for lots of rootbeer and he brought me a pitcher - which is rad. I’m not prepared to say it was the best pizza place ever but it was easily top 3. Awesome.

Posted by sam at October 22nd, 2005

Well I’m not moving to denver. I’m doing the last thing on the list, moving back to provo. Its the place for me right now, unfortunately. I’m not sure who I will live with there, though.

Today brian got his apartment. I’m jealous its way radical. He’s staying there tonight and I’m going to the springs to chill with leisy and his gf kirstyn. I will be coming back on sunday.

Casa bonita

Casa bonita

Just got out of casa bonita - the disney land of mexican restaraunts. All of you who are thinking “oh it’s like the mayan!” you are so wrong. The mayan copied casa bonita and didn’t even do a good job of it. This is the real monty - black barts cave, piniatas, mariachi band, jungles, caves, food, and yes - cliff divers. I know you’re jealous. In case you can’t tell, the picture is two guys diving and flipping. Rad.

Denver

Denver
Uploaded by gthing.

Brian and I drove out to Denver today. We got in around 9pm and I drove Brian around Denver a bit so he could get an idea of where he wants to live. The picture is from our stop at “the trail of time” - some tourist spot near the Colorado border. It was actually really cool, you can see dinosaur bones in the rock there. Night 1 of being in Denver my feeling is that I should not move here. The idea of moving here makes me miss everyone I know in Utah. It makes me think that I should stay in Utah - but school is so expensive there. I guess we’ll see how I feel in the morning - but right now I feel like I have two options. Denver - cheap school, not so awesome social possibilities. Salt Lake - old hat, no reason to stay. Provo - expensive school, better social options, existing friend infrastructure.

I don’t know what to do. Maybe we should put it to a vote?

Uberman sleep cycle

Posted by sam at October 17th, 2005

I had heard that certain famous individuals in history (da vinci, einstein, etc.) had had a weird sleep schedule. They would basically take short naps throughout the day and night, thus compressing their sleep into s nuggets totaling about 2 hours a day.

The idea always intrigued me, although I never knew anything about it and couldn’t find much on the internet. Well today (yesterday) hackaday posted a story on it and its called the uberman sleep cycle, or polyphasic sleep. You sleep twenty minutes at 4 hour intervals. The end result is that you sleep more efficiently and get a 22 hour day (thats 3 extra months per year!)

So I’m going to give it a try. With my newfound feeedom its the perfect time. I just got done with my first nap. Apparently the first week is really hard. Your body isn’t used to it so the “sleep” you’re getting isn’t really very efficient. The first week turns out to be a week of sleep deprevation. We’ll see how it goes. I might give up before the first day - but I will keep you, my faithful readers, posted.

Me: “what’s up?”
Dave: “Nothing, you should come watch a movie with us”
Me: “Oh I can’t, I have to … uhh … I dont have anything to do - I’ll be right over.”

Unemployment is so awesome.

In other news, Dave and I started the first ever internet gang. And this is our gang sign:

day off

Posted by sam at October 14th, 2005

My boss was kind enough to give me today …. and the rest of my life off.  That’s right, I’ve been displaced, redistributed, opportuinaly adjusted, outsourced, or, as the layman say, laid off!

But don’t worry. your buddy sam saw it coming from a mile away.  I backed up my hard drive yesterday and had all my stuff ready to go.  I knew today was the last day (due to my awesome skillz of a detective ninja) so I rolled in late just for extra effect.

I got a job interview next week, but I’m kinda thinking of just rollin unemployment style for a little while.  It’s cool because they’re still going to pay me.

yahoo mail

Posted by sam at October 14th, 2005

I got a message form some lady on yahoo who wants me to join her “big families” yahoo group.  She said:

My name is Carrie,Owner of The Gotta Love Kids Network. I am a single mother with “9″ children, 5 of which I recently adopted last month. Up until just recently, I hadn’t realized how difficult it is to raise such a LARGE family. … “

I just thought it was funny.  I recently adopted 5 kids.  I recently realized how hard it is to raise a big family.  REALLY?!  No duh!
