Running

I just love reading other people's blog posts about how hectic and busy their life is.  That's why I'm going to talk about my hectic life right now.

First of all, I realize the neglect that has been placed on GTHING.net as I try to get my other project, DIY:happy, up an running.  We have a constantly growing readership (already as big as gthing.net, if not bigger), have been linked to from Makezine and others a few times, and have posted some ultra-cool projects.  If you haven't had a chance to check it out yet, please do so.  I promise I'll stop promoting it soon (just after we get a million readers).

So I got up this morning and went in to work.  No time for a shower or anything.  I started working on adding some products to our company website, but got stuck when I needed to edit some images and my photoshop trial had run out.  A new copy costs $600, which seemed like more than it was worth just to create some thumbnails.

So I started looking for alternatives.  Many hours, software applications and libraries, and one batch script later I came up with a quick solution that does everything I need it to do in a click of a button.  It's nearly perfect but still needs some tweaking.   Anyway, that's a really exciting story, I know - more on that at 10 o'clock.  Back to you Susan.

So after basically getting nothing that I really needed to get done done at work, I had to run home and head down to Payson with Jake to fix this dude's computer.  The roads were horrible because Frosty the Snowman just took a huge dump on Utah.  Slipperiest (yea, it's a word) roads ever.

We got free dinner out of the fix it deal, but ended up having to take the computer home because we didn't have time to fix it there.  I couldn't help Jake fix it when we got home because then I had to run to band practice - where we made some progress on our upcoming album's art.

After that I had to come home and help Ryan with his computer - we have been trying to get his 32" flat screen HDTV properly set up as his computer's monitor and it has proven more difficult than it should be.  Bah.

Then it was really late, but I had to write a bunch of posts or DIY:happy so we would have content tomorrow, and I even wrote some for Friday because I might be going to Vegas tomorrow and won't have time to post on the road.

That is my hectic life.  It's now 3:00am and I haven't gotten enough sleep at all this week, and I have work in the morning, and I have to get some crap done tomorrow or I am completly worthless.  Goodnight.
